And we press on with the seven course meal. This week: salad!

3salad

It is like something out of your worst nightmare.

What do YOU think it is?

Remember, we’re not looking for a literal interpretation; rather we’d like you to consider the potential of the dish.

What Is It? Second Course: Soup

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

We had a bit of a pause in our dinner routine. Damned indigestion will get you every time. Now we have an industrial-sized bottle of Zantac and are ready to continue with the feast!

Today, the soup:

Behold the creamed flecks of something grandpa coughed up last week, topped off with a lovely alien lifeform.

So what do YOU think it is? Remember, we’re not looking for a literal interpretation; rather we’d like you to consider the potential of the dish.

What Is It? First Course: Appetizer

1appetizer

We start our seven course extravaganza with a representation of the zodiac in seafood. We take heart in knowing the chef chose not to replicate the Mayan calendar, in which case we would all be doomed.

What Is it? Wednesday Is Back!

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

While our chefs prepare a sumptuous seven course meal for your pleasure, allow us to tease your palate with this dish:

intro

It appears someone baked up the torso of a beloved food mascot and served him up as part of a starchy feast.

What do you think it is?

(Just a reminder on the ground rules. We’re not looking for the actual name of the dish. We’re looking for its potential. Keep it PG-13, please. If this is your first time to comment, your post will be held for approval. There is one sort of spam we don’t tolerate around here!)

I’m working on some updates. And yes, trying to get the header back.

Hang in there…

That little flash of pink next to last week’s dunce salad?

peach_boob

Why, it’s the pink peach boobie of delight! Now we know why the salad got into trouble.

Earliest Recipe for Dr Pepper Found?

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009

I admit it: I love Dr Pepper. I even have a pair of glass bricks from the old Dallas plant on a shelf in my kitchen.

Now, what appears to be the earliest recipe for the concoction has been found in an antique ledger book. One of the ingredients: Mandrake root. No prune juice, though.

What Is It?

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

If it’s Wednesday, then it must be time for another helping of unidentifiable food.

This week’s folly:

dunce_salad

This is what happens when the salad course gets put into time out.

Our previous abomination was called Peach Temptation. I was sure tempted to do something with it…

So, what do you think this is? Next week, watch for more of the mysterious pink blob you see in the corner. Betcha can’t wait.
