Friday, November 21st, 2008So the chief executive of a state pardons a turkey. So far, so good. So, poor Tom was to filthy for her to touch? Hey, I can get behind that.
The interview that follows is too surreal to be believed. And please heed their warning: If you’re squeamish or you have kids in the room, or if you really don’t want to know THAT much detail about what might happen to Tom if he hadn’t been pardoned, don’t watch further. The first part is family-friendly, and they blurred the worst bits in the second part.

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008Whenever I need a laugh I go check out William Shatner’s version of Elton John’s “Rocket Man.” It was performed at the Science Fiction Awards back in 1978, a decade or so after his infamous rendition of “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds.” In fact, here’s a hilarious animation set to that song. Beverages away from the keyboards, please.
